Occupational Therapist (OT)
One who has received initial certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB) or the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). If practicing, must maintain Missouri License.
Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
One who has received initial certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB) or the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). If practicing, must maintain Missouri License.
Student
One who is enrolled in an approved or accredited educational program leading to the qualification of OT or OTA. In determining membership status, those qualified as OT or OTA and who are engaged in advanced or continuing education are not classified as students.
New Graduate – OTR Entry-Level Practitioner
One who has graduated within the past calendar year at the time of membership application from an accredited OT/OTA educational program.
New Graduate – COTA Entry-Level Practitioner
One who has graduated within the past calendar year at the time of membership application from an accredited OT/OTA educational program.
Associated State Member
An OT or OTA with full membership in another state association.
Retired
Retired -One who is age 65 years or over, is no longer employed full-time and was a member of MOTA prior to turning 65 years old. Shall retain the same rights and privileges as previous classification of membership. Does not pay dues. This membership type requires approval.
Organizational
This class shall consist of institutions, agencies or other allied health professionals interested in occupational therapy but is not eligible for another classification.
